Some of us already know why coffee ground enemas are beneficial but every once in while we need a reminder. That's the best of the store, constantly getting asked different questions allow me to remember things that are part of my memory bank but not in everyone elses.
Dr. Gerson the man famous for the Coffee enema explains it thoroughly in his book The Gerson Therapy.
He states the benefits are as follows..
"Introducint a quart of boiled coffee solution into the colon will accomplish the following physiological benefits:
So now you know.

I was watching a documentary today and it discussed humans not choosing to breathe, we just do. Unlike whales and dolphins who actively choose to take each breathe. If you think about it makes sense they come up for air because of a sense to get air. As humans we don't think about breathing except when we are underwater. So many times we get frustrated and someone will say just breathe and we are relaxed or calm down.
So take a minute and breathe to live..not for any other reason but the most primal reason there is!

I always laugh at that gum commercial that says dirty mouth, clean it up chew whatever the name is of the gum-of course I don't remember the gum because i'm normally laughing at whatever weird scenerio they play out.
But if you really have a dirty mouth, clean it up with a TONGUE SCRAPER!
Using a tongue scraper is an ancient Ayurvedic technique that has become popular today for treating “bad breath”.
The ancient Ayurvedic healing philosophy of India has recommended tongue scraping for centuries as an aid to digestion and for the health of the teeth and the sinuses. When the salivary glands are cleaned, it activates them and enhances digestion.Your taste will also be improved with a clean tongue surface that allows the taste buds optimal functioning.
Cleaning the tongue with an appropriately designed tongue cleaner also massages the tongue. This is an important element of traditional Chinese medicine - the tongue surface is identified as an important reflexogenic zone.
Tongue cleaning revitalizes the throat and keeps the sinuses cleaner by reducing bacteria that can travel into the respiratory system. Many people who have struggled with sinus infections, sore throats, throat infections, and chronic bad breath, may find added relief through regular tongue scraping.

Yeah I went there. I love to hear people who would normally never buy something healthy come into the store and say they heard something on some tv or radio show and want to know more. Or tried something at a restaurant and thought wow this is really cool. Chia seeds have been coming into the spotlight again and I have been talking about them a lot!
Chia seeds can be taken in a spoonful or you can put them in your smoothies or my personal favorite a chia seed pudding. Chia seeds plump up to about 9 times their size and act as a sweeper in your intestines. They help in making you feel fuller longer. Nutty-tasting whole-grain chia seeds are loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, and they have among the highest antioxidant activity of any whole food -- even more than fresh blueberries. And they do good stuff for the body, like keeping blood pressure and blood sugar under control.

Lecithin is one of those things called for in a lot of raw and vegan recipes and most people have no idea what the heck it is. The term lecithin connotes two meanings that are somewhat related but are not used in the same sense. In biochemistry and other related science, lecithin is a synonym for phosphatidyl choline. It is the main lipid component in biological membranes, like our cell membranes or cell walls of plants.
On the other hand, commercial lecithin is actually a natural mixture of neutral and polar lipids, including glycolipids, triglycerides, sterols, and small quantities of fatty acids, carbohydrates, and sphingolipids. Lecithin that contains phosphatidyl choline is produced mainly from vegetable sources, although it may also be found in animal and microbial sources.
We carry sunflower and soy lecithin at the store. It is considered an emulsifier and helps to make desserts and smoothies creamy and blend ingredients better. It's kinda like the egg yolk in baking traditional baked dishes.
The following are some of the many health claims that lecithin is said to have:

So many folks come in and ask why they should take a probiotic. My answer is different for each person but I always explain that our intestines should have up to 2 pounds of live bacteria! Things like coffee, alcohol, cigarettes, antibiotics to name a few kill our normal digestive bacterial flora. If you follow a standard american diet then probiotics will help with digestion immensely and add our digestive enzymes (omnizymes) and the bloated tired feeling should decrease. If you are traveling to a foreign country and are afraid of getting food poisoning then probiotics are a smart decision!
We carry a few brands but I would say the liquid Zana Juice is the way to go if you prefer liquids! It comes in 3 different flavors: Bio (a nice cabbage taste), ginger and turmeric. Each have 15 live strains of bacteria and locally made in NY! We also carry Innate's brand of probiotics in 4 different types: Women's Flora, Ultra Strength, Clinical Strength and 7 day Intensive. These all have different amounts of live strains of bacteria and inactive strains in capsule form.
So if you were wondering there ya go!
