Oh my buddha

    I remember when I went to Thailand and was doing the traditional riding of the elephant and a huge rainstorm started in the middle of the trek. It was one of those things that all you could do is laugh and say oh my god this crazy. I still remember every time I would say oh my god this is crazy the elephant "driver" would say Oh my buddha and we would laugh uncontrollably. So whenever anything is named buddha I think of him. To my delight this adorable couple in Williamsburg Brooklyn decided to make chocolates and named them Buddha Chocolates. When I first tried their Buddha cup i had a little kid giggle similar to that day in Thailand. It was like a better and healthier version of a reese's peanut butter cup. YUM!

    So many folks come in and ask why they should take a probiotic. My answer is different for each person but I always explain that our intestines should have up to 2 pounds of live bacteria! Things like coffee, alcohol, cigarettes, antibiotics to name a few kill our normal digestive bacterial flora. February might be my favorite month..

    It could be because it's the shortest so by the time I realize it's February it's almost over. Or maybe the obsession with chocolate starts to bloom and it  gives me a chance to try more goodies. Or because it's heart health month or black history month..I give up I just kinda like it.

    So take an opportunity this month to enjoy! Eat Chocolate! Pay attention to your heart with exercise and whole foods! Listen to some soul and get lost in it all.

 

Shake Your Kale Feather

    Once upon a time there was this lady and she made Kale chips..fast forward a few years and now everyone is making them. But you can't beat the original, Blessings! She has amped it up and added more flavors to her repertoire. Habanero Ranch is now Southwest Ranch and CheeseYes are still there but now we have Cheezy Chipotle, Spirulina Creamsicle, ChocKaleTchip, and Tarragon Dijon.

    So go ahead and get your chip on.

Noodle brain

    Some of us love kelp noodles and can't get enough. Others just don't get the excitement and then I realize they don't know the secret to making them taste like NOODLES!

    The secret is soak the noodles in water and squeeze about a half of a lemon over top and massage the noodles then let those suckas sit for about an hour. Voila you got some soft noodles ready for some eatin'!

    Nili's fav recipe is to take cashew nut butter and add water until creamy, sprinkle a little sea salt and nutritional yeast throw veggies on top and Pasta Primavera!
