Brazil Nuts are my go to in the winter and I always forget why..my body just asks for them.
Then I remember duh my scalp is drying in the winter and the coconut oil regime just ain't cutting it.
But then I think oh yeah it helps with Immune function with all those delightful antioxidants. It also reduces the severity of cold sores and shingles, and helps
fight viral infections. It also helps relieve lupus symptoms.
And holy cow it helps my thyroid function too.
Try Kate "Magic" Wood Brazil Nut Burgers!! From Eat Smart Eat Raw:
4 Celery Sticks
3 Carrots
1 Onion
Small bunch parsley
8 oz. Brazil Nuts
2 oz ground Flax Seeds
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
1 tbsp Tamari
4 oz. Water
Roughly Chop the celery, carrots, onion and parsley. Put them in the food processor with the nuts, and process until all the ingredients are blended together. Then add the remaining ingredients, and process again to make a thick paste. Ona dehydrator tray, shape into burgers about one half inch thick and dehydrate for seven hours.
