I'm sure if you have your ear to ground the topic of Vitamin D3 and the fact that most of us living breathing humans are deficient! Especially in folks where the sun isn't as shiny, no fishy diet, non grain lovers and non milk drinkers...or you lucky folks with digestive disorders, thyroid problems or carrying a little excess pounds!
So whats the big deal about low Vitamin D?
Low blood levels of the vitamin have been associated with the following:
- Increased risk of death from cardiovascular disease
- Cognitive impairment in older adults
- Severe asthma in children
- Cancer
Research suggests that vitamin D could play a role in the prevention and treatment of a number of different conditions, including type1 and type2, hypertension, glucose intolerance, fertility, chronic pain, daytime sleepiness, depression, low immune system and multiple sclerosis.
Vitamin D works with a lot of other vitamins and their absorption as well! Calcium and Magnesium for example!
Well now that you have a little more information what do you do? 1000 IU is a great starting point of D3 daily! If you are more deficient jump up to 2000 IU a day of D3. Overdosing on D3 can occur, you will get pretty darn sick with nausea and vomiting but you would have to be taking quite a bit! If you feel sick scale back!!!!
We are lucky enough to sell Vitamin D3 By Innate in both 1000IU and 2000 IU in pill form AND Liquid form by World Organics 400 IU per 8 drops.
