Want Radiant Skin - Start Dry Brushing

The ancient practice of dry brushing is gaining modern popularity.

Benefits of dry brushing

Lymphatic Support: The lymphatic system is a major part of the body’s immune system. It is made up of organs and lymph nodes, ducts and vessels that transport lymph throughout the body. Many of these lymph vessels run just below the skin and proponents of dry brushing claim that brushing the skin regularly helps stimulate the normal lymph flow within the body and help the body detoxify itself naturally.

Exfoliation: This benefit is often noticed the first time a person dry brushes. The process of running a firm, natural bristled brush over the skin helps loosen and remove dead skin cells, naturally exfoliating skin. I noticed much softer skin in the first few days and weeks after I started dry brushing and my skin has stayed soft. Dry brushing is one of the simplest and most natural ways to exfoliate skin.

Clean Pores: The added benefit of exfoliating the skin, is clearing oil, dirt and residue from the pores. Though it isn’t recommended to dry brush the face unless you have a special, more delicate brush, dry brushing helps improve pores on the rest of the body.

Cellulite Help: Though the evidence is anecdotal, there are many people who claim that regular dry brushing greatly helped with their cellulite. I talked about this and my other cellulite remedies here.

Increased Energy and Blood Flow: Since it increases circulation and blood flow, it is not recommended at night because it tends to give a rush of energy.

How to Dry Brush

Dry brushing can be done daily, preferably in the morning before showering.

Starting at the feet, brush the bottoms of the feet and up the legs in long, smooth strokes. Brush each section of the skin for 6 to 10 times. Always brush toward the heart/chest area where the lymph system drains to create a nice flow of the lymph.

Repeat the same process with the arms, starting with the palms of the hands and brushing up the arm toward the heart.
Repeat the process on abdomen and back, do nut brush face, breasts and groin.

Note: Don’t brush too hard, and if you want to brush your face, use a special soft face brush! It’s normal for the skin to appear slightly pink after brushing, but it should never be red or sting.

Brush before showering and use a natural lotion after showering such as our MSM Lotion.

Recipe Time!! Cucumbers Rolls With Lemon Cream Cheese!

These easy to make, but fancy rolls will impress your guests and yourself. :)
Great as a appetizer or along with a Salad.

Makes approximately 24 rolls.
Prep time 30 minutes.

2 - 3 cucumbers
2 cups macadamia nuts, soaked for 2 hours (optional but will be easier to blend)
Juice from 2 lemons
1/4 tsp himalayan salt
1 tbsp nutritional yeast
1 tsp light miso, I like chickpea miso
1/3 cup water
3 drops lemon essential oil from Young Living, if not on hand you can use finely grind lemon peel, but it won't give you the same lemony taste.

Place all ingredients, except the essential oil, into your blender and mix till a creamy texture is achieved. Add the essential oil and give it another quick mix.

Peel the cucumbers and slice them into 2mm thin slices, best done on a mandoline.
Only use the flesh without the seeds, so stop slicing when you come to the core, you can use that in your juice or cut into pieces for your salad.

Place a heaping tablespoon of the Lemon Cream Cheese onto a slice of cucumber and spread it out. Now simply roll the slices up and place on a plate.

Garnish with fresh or dried herbs, dill compliments very nice, finely grind lemon peel is great too.
