Young Living Thieves Household Cleaner

Young Living’s Thieves blend comes with history.

While the plague wreaked havoc all over Europe, a group of four thieves in England was able to entering the homes of plague victims, stripping the dead bodies of money, jewelry and anything else of value that could be found, without getting infected themselves.
The King, eager to protect himself and the Royal Family, wanted the thieves caught and brought to him to reveal their secret.
The thieves were all part of a long line of herb merchants and apothecaries.  The thieves were familiar with a combination of specific plant oil, that when rubbed on the buddy, would protect them from contracting this deadly disease.
The King promised them mercy in exchange for the names of the specific plants used, so that he was able to protect his family and himself.

The recipe for the Thieves oil can still be found in the Royal English Archives to this day.

Thieves Household Cleaner is an all-purpose, ecologically friendly, concentrated cleaner formulated with 100 percent plant- and mineral-based ingredients. Containing Young Living Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus Radiata, Rosemary essential oils.

Thieves Household Cleaner can be used for the whole house:

• All-purpose Thieves Cleaning Spray: 1 capful Thieves cleaner to 1 quart distilled water in a spray bottle
• Light degreasing: 1 capful to 3 1/2 cups distilled water
• Medium degreasing: 1 capful to 2 cups distilled water
• Heavy degreasing: 1 capful to 1 cup distilled water
• Window and Glass Cleaner: 1/4 tsp to 1 quart distilled water in a spray bottle
• Shower tub and tile: mix 1 cupful with 1 cup baking soda and scrub
• Fruit and Veggie Spray: 1 capful to 3 cups distilled water in spray bottle
• Dishwasher: 1 capful of Thieves cleaner
• Pots and Pans: 1 capful to 3 cups distilled water
• Floors: 1 capful to 6 cups distilled water
• Walls: 1 capful to 2 cups distilled water
• Fabrics: 1 capful to 2 cups distilled water
• Laundry: 1 to 2 capfuls, depending on size of washer
• Carpet: 1 capful to 6+ cups of distilled water

Safe for use around children and pets.

Vitamin D Deficiency

Vitamin D deficiency is becoming incredibly common in a lot of people, but many mistakenly believe they aren’t at risk because they consume vitamin-D-fortified foods (such as milk).

There are very few foods (fish, eggs, mushroom (if grown in the sun)) that actually have therapeutic levels of vitamin D naturally and even fortified foods do not contain enough vitamin D to support your health needs.

Despite its name, vitamin D is not a regular vitamin. It's actually a steroid hormone that you are designed to obtain primarily through sun exposure, not via your diet.

Spending lots of time indoors, and use a sun protection (most sunscreens block Vitamin D production) are making it almost impossible to not become deficient.

Vitamin D helps the body:

• Absorbing calcium to promote bone growth.
• Immune system, to fight off infections
• Muscle function
• Cardiovascular function, for a healthy heart and circulation
• Respiratory system – for healthy lungs and airways
• Brain development

A lack of vitamin D has also been linked to some other conditions such as:

Recommended dosage ranges from anywhere between 4’000 IU/day to 10’000 IU/day.

Since Vitamin D is fat soluble, the body has a hard time getting rid of it if you take too much.
It’s been said that 40’000/day over a couple of months or longer can be toxic to the body.

It is highly suggested to have a blood test done, to see if you are deficient and to determine the correct amount of Vitamin D needed.

Happy Thanksgiving - We Have Two Recipes For You!

High Vibe is wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving! We are open today (Wednesday) till 8pm, are closed for Thanksgiving and are back for you Friday at 10am.

If you are in need of a last minute dinner idea, we have a scrumptious vegan Quinoa Autumn Pie and a vegan and raw Eggnog recipe.

Quinoa Autumn Pie

Ingredients:

5 cups cooked quinoa, about 2 cups dried
2 cups butternut squash
1 large sweet potato
1/4 cup golden flax seeds, grounded
1 tbs coconut oil
1 red onion
1 glass (200grams) chestnuts, peeled and cooked
1/4 bing cherries
1 tsp all spice
1/2 tsp ground thyme
1/8 tsp ground pepper
1/4 tsp turmeric
3/4 tsp salt

Instructions:

Cook the quinoa according to the package instructions.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Meanwhile peel the butternut squash, take the seeds out and cut into 1 inch pieces.
Peel the sweet potato and cut into 1 inch pieces.
Peel and finely dice the onion.
Heat the coconut oil in a pan and add the dices onion, stir frequently until the onion is translucent.
Add the squash and the potato. Let cook with lid on for 10 minutes, stir frequently.
Add the cherries, the all spice, ground thyme and pepper, and the turmeric, mix well together and stir for 5 minutes.

Mix the salt with the quinoa.
Cut the chestnuts into quarters.
Grease a pie pan with some coconut oil.
Mix the quinoa with the chestnuts, the potato/squash mixture, and the flax seeds.
Fill the pan and press it  good down.
Bake Pie for 30 - 40 minutes, slice and enjoy.

Vegan Eggnog

1 cup raw cashews, soaked for 2 hours
3 cups filtered water
5 pitted medjool dates
1 medium banana, frozen
1/4 tsp vanilla powder
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
cinnamon sticks for garnish

Instruction:

Drain and rinse the cashews, add them to a high speed blender along with the 3 cups of water.
Blend on high for one minute.
Add the remaining ingredients to the cashew milk and blend on high for another minute, or until completely smooth.
Pour, garnish with a cinnamon stick, and enjoy!

Recipe Time! Super Easy, Extremly Addictive MACA FUDGE!!!

Who doesn't love to have a healthy snack at home? And even better if that snack only has a handful of ingredients and is made in under 10 minutes! You just need to be patient to let the fudge sit in the freezer for a few hours to set...

Here is what you need:

7 tablespoons nut butter, I love using almond butter

3 tablespoons coconut oil

3 tablespoons raw honey, or any liquid sweetener you may prefer, agave, yacon or maple syrup work well too, or a mix of them

3 tablespoons raw cacao powder

1 tablespoon Maca powder, and extra to top the fudge with. Optional, but you won't be able to call it Maca Fudge anymore, however it will still be delicious and addictive. :)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

pinch of salt, optional

1/2 cup cashews (or any nut you prefer), crushed (chop them with a knife, or pack in a ziplock bag and crush them with a rolling pin)

 

How to do it:

Place a glass bowl into some hot water.

Now add all the ingredients except the crushed cashews into the glass bowl.
The hot water will help to melt the coconut oil and make the nut butter more creamy, so that you can easily mix everything together with a spoon or spatula.

Once everything is well combined, and looks extremely chocolatey and yummy, you can stir in the nuts.

Pour the mixture into a flat wide container, glass is preferred, but any container will do.

Sprinkle with some more Maca on top of it.

Place in fridge to let it set for a couple hours. The longer you let it sit, the firmer it will become. Once the fudge is set you can cut it into pieces.

Store in the fridge, as they will melt at room temperature.
