Black Cumin Seed or nigella sativa has a rich composition of proteins, minerals, carbohydrates and fats.
Almost all of its fat content is in the form of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids - which are very important for good overall
health and a sound immune system.

The seeds also have around 15 amino acids, which are the building blocks of protein, 9 of which are the essential amino acids.

The pharmacological investigations of the seed extracts reveal a broad spectrum of activities including immunopotentiation and

How to Prepare the Seeds

Grind what is needed in a coffee grinder or mortar & pestle and

Minty Raw Chocolate Cheesecake / Fudge for Two!

Do you want to impress your date or spouse?

This Minty Chocolate Cheesecake for two is easy to make and will have your loved one melt in your arms.

Raw - Vegan - Gluten Free

• 1/2 a large, very-ripe banana
• 2 Tbsp (or more!) cacao powder (10g)
• 4 Tbsp Coconut Butter
• 2 to 3 Medjool dates
• pinch of salt
• 1 - 3 drops peppermint essential oil
• optional: cacao nibs, fresh mint leaves

1. Blend all ingredients (except the optional cacao nibs) together in your blender or food processor. Stir in your cacao nibs, if using.
2. Spread into a container, or onto wax paper. This can be served as a cake or cut into fudge pieces.
   (Side note: this recipe makes a small cake. If you want a normal-sized cake, feel free to double or triple the recipe.
   It’s so good, you’ll want to do this anyway!)
3. Refrigerate overnight, or freeze for a few hours.
   The cake will keep in the freezer for weeks. Just be sure to thaw at least 20 minutes prior to eating.

Here's a simple, super delicious recipe for Pistachio Pesto.

Pistachio Pesto

Ingredients:

2 garlic cloves
2 cups loosely packed basil
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon Himalayan salt
2 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 cup Pistachio Butter

Place everything into your food processor or blender except the pistachio butter.
Give it a good blend, add the pistachio butter and blend again.

This is great for veggie pasta, regular pasta, as a spread on crackers and in sandwiches, to raw and  cooked veggies, on potatoes or add a couple tablespoons to your salad dressing.

How to Add Camu Camu to Your Diet

Camu Camu is naturally very sour, when used in powdered form it reduces the sour taste.
That way you can add it to a number of other foods to add flavor, such as cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, ice cream, smoothies, and some desserts.

Recipes:

Parsnip Soup

This soup is just perfect for this time of year.
Parsnip is in season and the camu camu will give an extra boost to your immune system.

Ingredients:

4 medium parsnips
1 Tbsp coconut butter
1 heaped tsp maca
1 heaped tsp camu camu powder
3 Tbsp liquid aminos/soy sauce
1 Tbsp lemon juice

Peel & chop the parsnips and then place in a saucepan of water.
Bring to the boil and then simmer until parsnips are soft.
Turn off heat, add the coconut butter and blend.
Add the maca, camu-camu, aminos/soy sauce and the lemon juice and blend again.

I love to top this soup with some hemp seeds!

Camu Cider

So much Vitamin C in one cup it will bring the sun back into the winter blues.

Ingredients:

½ tsp Ginger Powder
¼ tsp Allspice Powder
1 tsp Camu camu powder
4 Cup Apple Juice
1 Cup Orange Juice
1 tsp Cinnamon Powder

Mix together all ingredients except the camu camu together in a pot, and gently warm over low heat for 2-3 minutes until heated through.
Remove from heat, add the camu camu powder and mix well. Serve immediately – makes 4 cups.

Camu Camu Lemonade

Ingredients:

2 Tbsp Camu Camu powder
1 to 2 tsp Stevia powder
Juice from 1 lemon
2 Tbsp Maple Syrup or Raw Honey
1 quart water

Combine all ingredients in a blender and briefly blend. Add additional sweetener if desired.
Chill before serving.
