Making your own chocolate is fairly easy and so much fun.
Here we have a base recipe for you that you can then top up with your favorite dried fruits, nuts, seeds, and grains.
Impress your family and friends with this awesome looking homemade chocolate.
3 Ingredient Base Chocolate Recipe
- 1 cup cacao butter
- 1 & 1/4 cup cacao powder
- 3/4 cup honey or maple syrup
Fill a small saucepan with 1/3 cup of water and place a bowl on top, covering the saucepan. The proper cooking term for this is bain marie.
To have your chocolate remain raw you want the water to be hot but not boiling, now melt the cacao butter inside the bowl.
Once it has melted stir in the maple syrup and cacao powder for a few minutes until the chocolate thickens.
Pour the chocolate into molds. There are a lot of different ones too choose from, you can find the at stores such as Michael's and on Amazon.
Do not fill the chocolate up to the rim, leave some space for your toppings, you don't want the chocolate to overflow.
Now simply top your chocolate with whatever your heart desires. This is my favorite part and I tend to go crazy.
Some ideas for toppings:
Dried fruits such as: papaya, mango, pineapple, strawberries, gojis, cherries, figs, golden berries, mulberries, raisins and blueberries
Nuts: almonds, brazil, cashews, hazelnuts, pecans, macadamia
Sprouted and dehydrated buckwheat
Seeds: pumpkin, sesame, chia
Coconut shreds and chips
